Pastor - Monsignor John T. Mulligan
Monsignor Mulligan was baptized in Holy Name of Jesus Parish on West 96th Street in Manhattan, New York. The family moved to the Bronx where he attended St. Luke’s School, Cardinal Hayes High School and St. John’s College in Brooklyn. He worked as a Recreation Director for the City of New York and later as a claims adjuster for the Travelers’ Insurance Company. He began his study for the priesthood in September 1959 at St. Joseph Seminary and was ordained on May 30, 1964 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. He served in St. Joseph in Kingston, NY, St. Anthony’s in Harrison, NY, his Alma Mater, Cardinal Hayes High School, and the Parish of Our Savior in Manhattan, NY. He was assigned to St. John’s in November 1998 as our pastor. In 2001, he was elevated to Monsignor. St. Johns is most fortunate to have Monsignor Mulligan as our shepherd. He has encouraged all of us to use our God given talents to make St. John’s a welcome place for all and to do all we can to live as Jesus taught us and to promote the “Good News”. He is active and supportive of the many Parish Ministries, as well as a spiritual advisor to the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Daughters, Court St. Anne. St. Johns is blessed and thankful to have Monsignor Mulligan as its Pastor. johnmulligan1@optonline.net
