Holy Orders

One of the Sacraments of "Communion and Mission" is “Holy Orders”. In this Sacrament, a bishop—through the power of the Holy Spirit—bestows authority upon a man to serve the Church in a radical and unique way. Whereas preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage typically takes 6 months, ordination as a permanent deacon or priest usually requires 5-9 years of human, intellectual, spiritual, and pastoral formation.
